HOUSE RULES
Content

1. Introduction

All camps must have House Rules that safeguard the security of the residents and clarify practical and financial responsibilities related to being a resident. Local adaptions to the House Rules must be approved by UDI in writing. The House Rules[1] of the camp must be posted in a visible place for the residents, and translated to the most relevant languages in the camp. The rules should be managed with discretion.

2. Peace and order

Everyone that lives in or stays in the premises of the camp must follow the House Rules.
Use of radio, TV, stereo and sound equipment must be moderated in such a way that it does not disturb the neighbors.
The camp must be quiet from 11.00PM until 06.00AM.
Alcohol consumption is prohibited in common areas of the camp[2].
Smoking is prohibited indoors.
Actions punishable by law, such as using or distributing drugs, theft, fencing stolen goods, serious threats and/or violence will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and reported to the UDI regional office.

 3. Use of common areas and equipment

Common rooms and outdoor areas must be kept clean. Bicycles, strollers and similar should not be placed in such a way that they are hindering other residents.
Trash, waste and disposable goods must be disposed of in designated places.
Indoor common areas must be washed regularly. A list will be provided, indicating when each resident is responsible for washing.
We will arrange special days for the maintenance of inventory, buildings, and outdoor areas. Lists will be provided, specifying when each resident must participate.
Residents must familiarize themselves with the use of washing machines, dryers and other common equipment. Lists will be provided, specifying at what times each resident can use them.

4. Moving out

The room/apartment must be cleared and washed before moving out.
Keys must be submitted to the office at the camp before departure. Each resident is financially responsible for the loss of their own keys.

5. Healthcare

In order to prevent the chance of infection, all residents must pour diluted chlorine (1 part chlorine, 10 parts water) in the shower, sink and toilet the first day of each month.

Residents are responsible for cleaning. All residents must also participate in a thorough washing of their own apartment/room and common areas at least twice per year.

6. Fire protection

Residents must inform the camp in advance if they have overnight visitors.
All residents of a house/apartment must inform the camp immediately if smoke alarms are malfunctioning.
Consequences in case of vandalism and/or sabotage of the fire alarms and fire protection system:

Removal of, and/or any tampering of any parts of the fire prevention measures (fire alarms, stove sensors, fire extinguishers/blankets etc.) will result in deduction of basic financial benefits, and the issue may be reported to the police. (UDI RS 2010-177 part 5).

Act relating to protection against fire, explosion and accidents that involve dangerous substances, and the Fire Department’s rescue responsibilities (Fire and Explosion Prevention Act).

§ 5 . Everyone is required to show general caution, and act in such a way that fires, explosions and other accidents may be prevented (Fire and Explosion Prevention Act).

§ 6. Owner and user of construction, area, vehicle of transportation, manufacturing equipment, other device or product is required to maintain the proper condition of technical constructions, safety devices

and other security measures that protect against fire, explosion or other accidents – thus ensuring that said items and measures work as intended at all times (Fire and Explosion Prevention Act).

§ 42. Whoever intentionally or through negligence violates this Act, central or local regulations, or single rulings issued pursuant to this Act, or who is accessory thereto, is punishable by fine or imprisonment up to three months (The General Civil Penal Code).

7. Violation of House Rules

Violations of the House Rules’ requirements for washing and maintenance will result in a deduction of the basic financial benefits by kr. 100 per violation, Cf. RS 2008-035V1,“Rules for financial benefits to residents in state camps.”
Residents are financially responsible for vandalism and damage to equipment or buildings, Cf. RS 2008-035V1, part 7.5.
